i'm glad to hear that Frankie is feeling better and that he's
been in good spirits. yay! hopefully the masses in his mouth
are just a reaction to the drugs or they're some sort of
benign swelling that will sort itself out soon. fingers
crossed, and i'll keep him in my thoughts.
Thanks, shelly!
A quick update. Frankie had a total health blood draw yesterday, and the
results came back tonight. His blood chemistry is improving quite a bit, and
they are seeing marked declines in the liver enzymes. They still are
abnormally high, but the declining steroids seems to be resulting in lower
liver enzymes across the board. That's wonderful news, now that the trends
are declining rather than elevating. All that, and his platelet count remains
robustly high. In short: another reduction in the steroid dose starting
tonight. He's gone from 14 pills a week to now 1.5 pills a week. Soon we'll
have a decision to make: whether to take him off completely or to keep him on
a low dose.
That's what's going on here. Thanks for the well wishes, and my best to H and
E, too!
Chad
