Default a BITE

Last month I was walking my Chihuahua and all of a sudden I heard the dog,
crying and raising his right paw, he could not walk
he had wondered in some bush's, and first I thought a snake might have bite
my dog, but after carrying him to the house he was still crying so I packed
him in the car and off we went to the vet, when we got there his paw was 2
times bigger, so I was really scared. Well thanks to the vets they gave my
dog some shots and medicine (That cost me $120.00) in a bill and I picked
him up later that day he was happy and acted as nothing had happened.
The result of the Bite was from a RED ANT! , I can't believe how much pain
he was in. But now he is home and happy and that is all I care about.
Has anyone else had a dog be bitten by red ants?.

Thanks,
Tino

How do you know it was a red ant? I have never heard of red ants causing that
kind of swelling. I would be far more suspicious that the dog stepped on a
bee, wasp, or hornet.

My dog gas been bitten by wasps...on the paw when she stepped on
it...on the nose when she try to bite it in the air....also near the
eye when she tried to take in down in mid flight.. First time was
frightening...now I ice down the wound similar to a human experience.
