To anyone who remembers me:

Well, we've given up on getting an apartment dog. Can't do 4 walks per day,
with one at 10pm! (I'm in my pj's by 8pm!) We're too lazy I guess. If we had
a yard we could do one long walk daily, but we don't.

more people carefully considered their own lifestyle before bringing a dog
into the picture.

You can always offer to dog-sit your friends' dogs, at their places, for a
doggie fix.

You've done the right thing. It would *really* hurt if you got a dog
and you had to find it a new home if it didn't work out.
