What a gorgeous trio of GSDs!
Are the two lighter colored dogs related to each other? Your choice of dogs is top notch! Lea S Virginia German Shepherd Rescue www.shepherdrescue.org |

Yup - ferrets blow coat. Moved from Texas to Oklahoma 2 years ago. It took until the second winter for them to form a thicker coat. They actually change coat or only actually grow or regrow hair, twice a year - Spring and Fall. If your ferret needs shaved in say, Feb for surgery - they may well be bald in that spot until Fall when the winter coat starts. How about that. That's really interesting. Actually pretty close to rabbit hair in consistency. That I didn't know either. It certainly doesn't look like rabbit hair. With 3 Siberians, I would really hate to see a hair pile that impresses you..... I was impressed by that pile of GSD hair. Fortunately, the Sibe hair doesn't all come out at once..although maybe that's not so fortunate. It would be much easier if, once the undercoat loosened up, we could just sit down and brush it all out, once and for all. In which case I'm betting the piles would be closer to human than canine size. Sally Hennessey "sighthounds etc." wrote in message .. . I thought getting the blown coat off the ferrets in the Spring was bad... I wonder if that pile was the whole season's coat blow, or what. It's a pretty respectable pile, but then again, I have three Siberians in my house and just brushed a pretty good-sized pile off a Borzoi today. Ferrets blow coat? Poor baby must have
never been brushed at all. She's blowing her summer coat. I got a pile almost that big a couple of weeks later. She's 7 years old now, and I swear it gets worse every year. LOL Doesn't help any either that she's long haired...our short haired shepherds don't have anywhere near that amount of hair! Thank goodness for undercoat rakes...regular brushes don't do a thing for this girl. :-) V Rondo Farms, Home of Rambo the Wonder Horse |
