Default Dogs & food scraps?

What's the general feeling on feeding dogs table scraps? We all know dogs
love "human food"
My dogs get their normal dog food but depending on what we are having for a
meal I reduce the amount of their food. I don't feed them junk / fast food
but if we are having a roast dinner or casserole they always have some as
well.
I've leaned a lot recently via the NG's about what's bad etc for dogs to eat
and I'm starting to worry if I'm doing more harm than good.
