Default Teaching a dog to 'speak'

Hi everyone, i was just wondering how you go about teaching a 8 month old
pup who never barks to speak? It is possible?

He only barks when someone pulls in the driveway, but only once or twice to
tell me they are there.
If he needs to go out he just crys till i take him out.
