Hello :-)

My Sam at the age of seven has always been choosy about food. I've recently
found out that when I blend the dry food with water and get porridge he will
"drink" it and he loves it. Now I can get him to eat twice a day and he is
gaining weight.

I know there is dry food for sled dogs that is in the consistence of flour
and makes porridge when mixed with water. I get the same consistence.

Anyway. I'm a happy dog owner now and my dog is happy too.

Olav,

I would check Sam's teeth and gums. I would palpate his gums.

My dog's gums bled until I started brushing his teeth/gums
daily. (I use an electric tooth brush and doggy toothpaste.)

I would check Sam's teeth and gums. I would palpate his gums.

My dog's gums bled until I started brushing his teeth/gums

I agree with Marshall I would have his gums and teeth checked to make sure
there isn't any infection going on. He may be a picky eater but this seems
a bit more than just pickiness.
