Boog's breeder has a litter on the ground right now. He's somewhere around
Portland. They are well bred field retrievers going to working homes most
probably. The litter was large so there may still be one available.

Oh, yes and by the way. They are retrievers of the Golden persuasion. Not
exactly Labradors, but better! ;-)

If you don't have to have a show ring dog, then check out www.petfinder.com/
Labs are incredibly overbred and are the most common dogs in shelters and
rescues. This country is littered with disposed of Labs. We're a very small
shelter, and we've had over 40 purebred labs come through in the last 2
years. Many many shelter dogs are purebreds and were just surrendered
because of their activity level and mouthy behavior *normal* to a Lab and
the owner didn't have a clue as to what owning a dog really meant. In
addition to the shelters, there are purebred Lab rescues that help to rehome
discarded dogs. You can find a wonderful pet or even agility animal and
save a life at the same time.

if you're not looking for a show dog, check out http://www.spdrdogs.org/.
Labs are the third most unwanted dogs according to Seattle Purebred Dog
Rescue's stats. number one is pit bulls and number two is beagles.

what this means is that there are a TON of labs in rescue at any given time.

if you do adopt from SPDR, your adoption fee is considered a "donation", so
is tax deductible.
