Hi,
My wife and I own a 7-year-old cocker who has seen it all. Recently we had to take him to the emergency animal hospital (it was over a Holiday weekend, of course) for a slipped disc in his back, which was paralyzing his back legs. While we were there we were informed that he was overweigh and had bad skin, hence my reason for writing. The vet only offered the use of pregnazone to resolve this problem, but due to the urgency of his back, we were never able to follow up regarding his skin issue. Now that he is back to his old ways, we've noticed that his pregnazone medication has worn off and the skin irritation is back. Can anyone tell us what this irritation is, and how me can treat it without pregnazone? Oh, yeah...this dog has also had infected ears that the vet recommended that we have sewn shut, but with the help of folks like you, we were able to nurse them back to health and he reminds all the time (i.e., he barks at every peep!). Many thanks, Walt |
