Default Companion for Darla

Darla is a 11 month old female sheppard mix. Would it be better to get a
male neutered dog or a female spayed dog. What age would you reccomened for
her companion?
To see a picture of Darla go to: http://www.youneverknow.com/AprilShower.htm
Thanks for any suggestions...Doug

Darla will probably not care what sex her companion is. I do think that
while she will probably not care, the least chance for issues would be a
male.

i think having a male and female together is usually a safe bet. it all
depends on the dogs, of course. what's her personality like? how is she
with other dogs? what breed(s) of dog are you considering for a companion?
do you know what her mix is? ok, i'm probably breed-blinded, but she looks
like she could be a shepherd x pit mix to me, so i'd keep that in mind when
choosing a companion.

whatever she is, she sure is cute.
