We have a 6 year old female Mini Schnauzer who has gone as many as 5 days
straight without eating anything. She will fill up on water and obviously she is hungry but when any food is offered to her she just hangs her head and slinks off to the bedroom to hide out until all signs of the food are gone. We also have a 4 year old male Mini Schnauzer who is dominant over the female. I understand that she may feel intimidated by him but could he be intimidating her to the point that she would go days without eating? On occasion we have gotten her to eat by physically placing the food in her mouth and after she got a taste she would wolf the rest of it down. It's really frustrating knowing that she is hungry but will not eat. What can we do for her? -Doug |
