is there anything in the manufacturing of dry dog food that can trigger
allergies? After years of battling all sorts of rhino this and sinus that, we have the dog on canned food and temaril-p. The dry cough hacking nasal drip symptoms are suppressed (if not gone) and six weeks would tell if diet is a factor. The dog has had dry food all its life and would be prone to frequents bouts of symptoms such as the above. Canned is more expensive (sticking with the Science Diet), and the dog is indeed quieter at night, no discharge on the sofa, and maybe has one cough or sneeze per day instead of two or three whole agonizing series of them. What's good is that there has been no diarrhea or vomiting as a result of the change. I figure go along with this for now; the alternative is allergy testing. I still personally suspect a chronic sinus condition, so if this doesn't hold up I'll get a second opinion. Allergy testing from what I hear is both expensive and inconclusive. Elmer Pintar |
