Suja has brought up some important facts here. But I must ask why the breeder of this dog has not been contacted and if so, why he has not been taken back by the breeder and kept or rehomed? Responsible breeders will take their stock back and find suitable homes. In fact they often have a waiting list of nice homes for a dog which must be placed. Lizzie, I didn't suggest that option because of the assumption that anyone who would sell a "miniature" Sheltie when such a thing does not exist must not be an ethical breeder. My bad. Suja |

Sam Sam It's an unfortunate fact that free dogs are often not taken as good care of as those someone has had to pay for. Suja has brought up some important facts here. The breeder should be willing to take the dog back and rehome it. As for the "miniature" name, a lot of people call the smaller 13" ones miniature, just because they look so small compared to the 16" ones SD |
