Are you ready for the terrier 'tudes? Terriers will make you laugh, cry,
scream and pull your hair out. They will challenge you in every way,
physically, and mentally. Most of the small breed terriers, imo, are intent
on trying to please their owners. But they have to know, unconditionally,
that you are their loyal owner....Most of the terriers are pretty vocal, can
you handle a noisy dog? They can be a bit on the anxious side, too. Please
say that you are home with the dog most all the time, this is not a good one
to get and leave for long periods by itself. (not that any of them are)
Good luck, keep your sense of humor, and have fun.

I agree with Perry on this completely. Growing up we had a Manchester
Terrier/Chi hua hua Mix and she was quite the handful. House training was
the hardest but when she finally got it everything went smoothly.

He describes Chico as if he were there growing up with her.............
She was a loyal dog and very protective but had a definite attitude about
things in particular. She especially did not like being left at home alone.
Not that it happened very often but when she was mad about it she left you
know it. I can't say she was a very yappy dog but when she went into
protective mode most people who didn't realize it was a small dog barking at
them through the door would back away thinking she was much bigger than her
15lbs.

Is a Manchester terrier like a small Doberman.
I may have got it wrong,
If it is I have only ever seen two .
Would like to know if I am correct.
Pat.

There is a similarity in the coat and color pattern. If you look at their
shapes, however, they aren't very much alike. But because the close coat
and black and tan color pattern is so obvious a lot of people do feel they
look like small dobermans.
