Default Switching dog food

I have a miniature schnauzer/shi-tzu mix that is getting to the bottom of
his puppy food bag. At a little over 1 year old, I am looking towards
getting a new food. I am currently on IAMS Lamb meal and Rice.

He seems a bit skinny to me. I can feel his spine and the top of
his hips pretty easily, so something to help put some weight (1-2 lbs) on
would be nice. At the same time, when we go to the park to play with his
mom, they run around *a lot* pretty much at top speed, so it needs to be
able to give him lots o'energy as well.

He also tends to have bm every time I take him out (once in the AM, once
at 6PM, and again at about 10:30-11PM), I wouldn't mind something with
less extras so that this frequency diminishes a bit. I can't help but
feel that the reason he is kinda skinny is 'cause his food has fillers in
it. I don't know enough about dog food to tell what is good and what is
filler, so I don't know how much filler IAMS has as compared to other
foods.
