I had a home visit to do Saturday. The family was very up-front with
me, telling me that they haven't decided between getting a puppy from a
breeder or going through rescue. We spent a bit of time going through
the basics (stuff I need to have the answer to), and then talked about
GSDs in general. They were very interested in my opinion on what makes
an ethical breeder, how to tell one from an unethical one (I gave them
websites, including Diane B's), what sort of health testing to expect,
how the testing works, differences between show and working lines,
American and German imports, etc. Altogether, I spent over an hour with
them, answering any and all questions they had.

Get an email from the HV coordinator this morning that they bought a GSD
puppy yesterday. Anyone know the odds that the puppy is well bred and
comes from someone who gives a damn?
