You know, I used to consider myself a non-small dog person. The more
dogs (of all sizes) that I met, the more I realized that it isn't so
much the dog, but the owner. I have never had any problems with any
dogs regardless of size, that are well behaved. It just so happens that
most of the obnoxious ones tend to be small and have clueless owners.
Or have balls and clueless owners. Or both. Either way, clueless
owners seem to be the common factor.
Hmph, I've noticed this trend as well. My BIL is a pretty good case in
point. I think it boils down to size in that its *alot* easier to ignore
obnoxious behavior from a little dog who isn't in your face than it is from
a medium-large sized dog whose behavior *is* in your face. People can walk
away from a yapping, jumping, bratty little dog much more easily than they
can walk away from the same behavior in an Aussie, BC, Boxer, etc.
Therefore the little ones never have those behaviors controlled or trained.
