Default addison's disease in dogs

My 4 year old dog was recently diagnosed with addison's disease, and while I'm
getting information from our vet about what to expect from the treatment, I'd
also like some anecdotal information from other people with dogs that have
addison's. I know it's supposed to be pretty uncommon. My dog is currently
taking prednisone 2xday, and will be getting mineral corticosteroid shots about
every 25 days (or as he needs them).

.......Unfortunately it's not that uncommon. When I had a dog with
Addison's the pharmacist told me she had more scripts out for dogs than
people. My pup was diagnosed at 10 and lived to 14. I'd check out the
Addison's group - lots of good info. Link's at the bottom of this page:

Good luck with your pup
