Dear sirs:

It has come to our attention that you have ordered the Dog playtime
terminated. We are greatly distressed by this decision and hope you will
reconsider. My dog and others have so much fun at this hour long playtime at
the PetSmart in Riverdale, 3589 River Rapids Dr.
Coon Rapids, MN 55448;763-421-0179,
and for the last 6 weeks we have been going every Saturday. (We didn't know
about it before).

If it is a matter of health of the dogs, we wouldn't mind bringing a proof
of needed shots, and/or signing a waiver stating we are attending playtime
under our own risk. I have a feeling corporate lawyers got involved here and
stressed liability. This can easily be overridden by signed statements of
the participants.

I like PetSmart and all that it does. We attended the Petsmart sponsor ed
adoption days and got our dog there. We regularly shop at PetSmart and every
single time we've attended the Dog PlayTime, we have purchased at least one
thing, most times, multiple items, as have many of the other participants.

Are you willing to forgo this additional income to the store just because a
person has complained about liability?

Please, don't let the lawyers win this won! Let us keep our PetSmart Dog
social hour!

Was it a recent corporate decision to end play time, or did your local store
just decide not to do it? When I was working for PetsMart, it was up to the
individual trainers whether or not they wanted to have one.

Actually, I don't think it ever was on the established curriculum. Which means
some stores with by-the-rules managers probably wouldn't allow it.

Leah, the trainer at PetSmart said it was corporate. Someone somewhere
brought up a liability issue. The trainer urges us all to write to
headquarters' so we could get it reinstated.

Wow. Once again, I'm glad I quit PetsMart. :}

One of my last straws there was when I was denied permission to give a small
puppy class (under 10 lbs.). I lost every teacup after the 2nd regular puppy
class because the owner would be so paranoid during play time, and business was
always walking out the door when the owners discovered that classes would
include larger puppies.

But I was told (1) It wasn't on the curriculum, and (2) Large puppy owners
might complain if they weren't allowed to sign up for the class.

If I had been working for a different manager, I'm sure I would have been given
permission freely, though.
