Default Sheltie play biting

My 7 month old sheltie, Chelsea has developed a peculiar behavior.
Whenever I close the dishwasher door or cupboard drawer she jumps on
me, wraps her front paws around my leg and starts to soft bite me.
Although it's play biting and growling sometimes she does nip a bit
hard. At first it was kind of cute but now it's annoying. My last
sheltie used to attack the dishwasher whenever I turned it on and
would lay in wait as I was putting the last few dishes in before
closing the door and she would charge at the door.
I'm reprimanding Chelsea with a sharp "no" but next time it's the
same thing. Is this a herding trait?

I'm wondering if this behavior is one of their traits? Friend's acts up
around the vacuum cleaner and the lawnmower. Even in it's old wobbly age,
it comes alive and runs in circles when either of the two things come out.
It cannot hear now, but the behavior has been there since it was little and
now we think it is the vibration that is setting him off.

Time for the squirt bottle for your leg humping and biting though.

She definately needs some discipline and the squirt bottle sounds like
a good idea but she isn't humping my leg like I have seen some dogs
do. She is just trying to hang on to me in her playful way.

I'm not sure I would bother with a squirt bottle or any other type of
discipline or punishment, unless this kind of behavior starts up with
other people in other situations.

Just teach her and use an 'Back Off' and 'Down-Stay'.
