It makes sense to me (but I can't find cites nor sites) that
it's not a good idea to feed mixed meals of raw and kibble because of the different digestion rates. I recall buglady posting about this, but my dejagoogling didn't find much. Can anyone point me anywhere? -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

You can add meat to kibble and be fine, but in reality it all depends on the dog. buglady take out the dog before replying |

I've read pages that suggested no mixing, and others that said that there is no problem with mixing the two, although none of them are what I'd consider unbiased sources. I've been mixing freeze dried raw and frozen raw in with Khan's kibble for quite some time now, with no ill effects. However, the raw constitutes only a really small portion of his food intake, and might account for this. Suja |

I thought that you'd written that it was OK to add up to 10% raw to kibble (or vice versa), but I must be misremembering. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

Heh, I don't think there *are* any unbiased sources when it comes to dog food. I've been mixing freeze dried raw and frozen raw in with Khan's kibble for quite some time now, with no ill effects. The frozen raw that I use is inconvenient when we travel. -- --Matt. Rocky's a Dog. |

Which freeze dried raw do you feed? The frozen raw that I use is inconvenient when we travel. Nature's Variety. Comes in Chicken & Turkey, Beef and Lamb. Each one pound package contains about a dozen (guesstimating, never counted 'em) or so patties. I am not crazy about the Chicken & Turkey because I think that it smells weird, but Khan absolutely loves this stuff, and especially likes the Lamb, which smells very lamby and is the stinkiest of the lot.
