Default responsibilities of a dog owner

I am considering owning a dog and would be interested to know your views
on the following:

If you have a dog, how often do you walk it, for how long, and at what
times of the day?
Do you have a garden? If so, does the dog relieve itself there so you do
not have to walk it as much?
Do you think it is reasonable to own a dog but live in a flat/apartment
with no private garden?
How often does your dog stay in the house alone, ie if you are going to
work etc?
What happens if your dog needs the toilet while you are out?

Also, with more and more public grassy areas displaying 'no dog fouling'
these days, does this mean that the dog cannot relieve itself even if
you pick up after it? Where do they do the toilet then?!

I think you will be best served to talk to some of the dog owners in
your area... face-to-face.

During the winter, Moolgi gets walked twice a day (at least). Once in the
morning at about 6pm, and again at night, between 10 and 11pm.

Nope, we live in an apartment.

Yes.

to work etc?

Every weekday.

He holds it in, and goes when we take him out. If he really needs to go,
he will let us know when one of us gets home and we can take him out.

Sorry to be fllip, but they go somewhere else.

Marcel
