Very likely half GSD, but the other half is something smaller, lighter and
"happier" - GSDs always give rather serious and slightly gloomy impression
to me! The other parent is most likely sable like this dog. Hmm, perhaps a
smallish spitz-type dog? Not as small as Pomeranian. Finnish Spitz might be
possible, although the Finkie x GSD crosses I've seen have had slightly
different face and fuller coat.

OK, so they're both cute. But nobody has a clue about the mix?

I'm not sure I'd assume that it's a first-generation
crossbreed.

Thanks.

Lots of dogs have that "look" .. my Zelda is a Shar Pei Lab mix .. and she
has the same ears and tail:

and

her brother has longer hair .. and a sister has almost poodle hair. One has
pointy ears like her .. the other .. I haven't seen since she was a pup but
IIRC she had pointy with floppy tips.

Mutts.. gotta love'em :-)

Do you know for sure that she is a Lab x Shar Pei? Color, coat, size and
overall shape fit, but she is lighter than I would expect (well, not
impossible) and she has erect ears!

You can't get poodle hair from that cross. You either mean something else
with that term, or the parents are of some other breed. True poodle coat is
always bearded (lots of facial hair), and that's a totally dominant trait.
Retrievers or Shar Peis don't have that coat but both are smooth/short.
Even long-coated pups from such a breeding mean that I have to suspect that
the parentage is not what you say it is. There are long-coated Shar Peis,
but they are rare (and non-standard), and I've never heard of a long-coated
Lab.
