FS: Weimaraner Male, 20 months, needs home
I am searching for a home for a 20 month old male Weimaraner with AKC papers. He fell into my hands somewhat by chance, and I can't keep him, at least not without neutering him. Please take a look at him: http://www.weimaraner.inkjot.com/ If you can help find him a happy home, please contact me. I am interested in your reasonable offer. Please pick him up, or pay shipping. Thanks for your time, |

Well, certainly if all that stands between your keeping him and booting him out is a neutering appointment, I fail to see the issue. If this dog is from a pet store, he's likely from a puppy mill - the names of his parents are huge red flags, as responsible breeders rarely have dogs named "Zena III" and "Ruger VII." Mills, on the other hand, love Roman numerals and often don't bother with the standard naming structure of a kennel name followed by a formal name. So there is no need for this dog to keep his balls for breeding purposes. If the neutering thing is just an excuse and you truly don't want to keep him, contact a Weim rescue and offer to give them a donation in exchange for their assistance in placing him. You sure as heck don't need to be making $350 for dumping a dog, no matter how you acquired him. Christy |

oups.com... FS: Weimaraner Male, 20 months, needs home If you are looking to rehome this dog responsibly, he needs to be neutered first. I can put you in touch with a local Weim rescue group, if you would care to contact me and let me know where you are located. If the dog was bred by responsible breeders, they should be more than happy to take him back. That should be your first course of action. -- Ruth, Greta, Woody & Thelma |

My sister has 4 weimaraner pups that she's having a hard time selling, but she'd rather keep them herself than dump them on the first one to come by. Weimaraners are a tough breed to raise and I wouldn't be surprised if the dog in question is just becoming too much of a handful for this person. They require a lot of attention and time. pepsi |

FS: Weimaraner Male, 20 months, needs home I am searching for a home for a 20 month old male Weimaraner with AKC papers. Step one. Contact the breeder of the dog. If the dog is carefully bred the breeder will want the opportunity to get the dog back. The sale contract will have required that of the buyer. He fell into my hands somewhat by chance, and I can't keep him, at least not without neutering him. Step two. If the breeder can't be located or refuses to take the dog back he should be neutered regardless of whether you keep him or place him. He isn't breeding material because a well bred dog has a knowledgable and caring breeder behind him. Please take a look at him: http://www.weimaraner.inkjot.com/ If you can help find him a happy home, please contact me. Offering an intact dog is a pretty good way to reduce the chances of a happy home. Because you will attract someone who isn't so interested in him as his balls. Rescues and other organizations that care about the DOG won't place intact dogs. That is because they want the person to be interested in the DOG not what he can produce. The mere fact that he has AKC papers does not make him breeding material. I am interested in your reasonable offer. Please pick him up, or pay shipping. Place him in Weimaraner Rescue if you can't get him back to his breeder. They will have the ability to screen homes and make a responsible placement. -- Diane Blackman http://dog-play.com/ http://dogplay.com/Shop/ |

Not a lot I can add except to reiterate that weims are not a dog for everyone - I have a beautiful young gal but she is *hard work*. I had studied dog behaviour on a course, I have had a mixture of dogs around me since I was born - from shelties to borzois - and spent a good 4 years researching first, but she's still had me wondering 'why on earth???' many a time. The only person who should even consider one of these dogs is the one that will commit 300% + and be prepared to put a few tears behind them, and if your dog doesn't find that home, he'll just end up like many, far too many, other weims that are dead before their time due to people just not understanding what kinda commitment this breed really needs. I find that this 20 mo old male has Champion Bloodlines:
http://www.weimaraner.inkjot.com/ Thank you to the Pro breeder who took the time to tell me how to read a pedigree paper! Thanks to the posters for your suggestions and for taking the time to look at the dog, and I hope you enjoyed his web site. I will gladly provide more info about the dog to anyone who will take a serious interest in his future. Thanks, dogboarder |

I find that this 20 mo old male has Champion Bloodlines: So what, even if it's true? My 10-month-old Dane's father is Dutch National Champion and her mother comes from a long line of Dutch, Belgian, and German champions. That doesn't make my dog a champion or even necessarily champion material. "Champion bloodlines" aren't some automatically wonderful thing to be preserved at all costs like some sort of rare and precious endangered species. Thanks to the posters for your suggestions and for taking the time to look at the dog, and I hope you enjoyed his web site. I will gladly provide more info about the dog to anyone who will take a serious interest in his future. He's cute. Too bad he has to live on a chain, poor fellow. I think everyone who has stated that you need to contactt your dog's breeder and if that doesn't pan out find a good rescue and have the dog neutered ARE the ones taking a serious interest in the dog's future. Just my two cents. --Katrina |
