Default Adopted dog peeing

Two weeks ago I assumed care of my parents 15-16 yr. spayed small breed
dog. 100% deaf and 85% blind. For the last 6-8 mo. she had been
urinating in their house even though she was let out often. She is
doing the same thing in my house even though she is put out every 2
hr. Other than that she is adjusting well and gets along well with my 3
yr. Shepherd.

Deramaxx was prescribed as needed for arthiritis and Selegiline for
mental sharpness in hopes of helping with the uriniation problem. She
seems sharp enough considering her diminished sight/sound. This seem
more like a physical issue. Lack of muscle control. I put her in a
crate at night but the bedding is wet 6-7 hr. later.

I can't continue to babysit this animal and can't afford a carpet
service every week. Anything thoughts or tips?

Thanks,

Take a look at this:

Years ago, we had a geriatric bitch with this problem. Our vet put
her on testosterone and a low dose of estrogen (DES). Cured the
urination and she was more lively.

.........had any bloodwork or urinalysis done?

Deramaxx was prescribed as needed for arthiritis

................sometimes Deramaxx is hard on the kidneys. How long has she
been on it? I'd definitely get at least a chem panel run, probablyl a CBC
also. Best to rule out kidney problems, including things like infections
first.

Pet diapers. Pampers, cut in half if needed or get the small size.
Older dogs usually don't rip them off, they are just grateful not to
be making a mess. If you cut them, get a narrow piece of elastic the
size of the dog's waist and slip the ends over the elastic.

Also, use covers or towels on dog beds that can be easily washed.
There's also something called 'Nature's Miracle' you can get at Petco
that nukes the odor well.
