We had a Boston Terrier that we loved but gave her up cause of the
extreme shedding after 2 months of having her. We have a baby on the
way and couldn't think of having the baby covered in hair (even with
daily vacuuming)! The shedding was so extreme it was causing more
grief than fun. Some people on message boards have said to give 3V
liquid or caps to help reduce or eliminate shedding (vet recommended it
too). The vet also said poor nutrition can also be to blame for
shedding so buy some very healthy, expensive dog food. I have heard of
the extreme shedding and as long as there are no bald patches, it's
starting to sound kind of normal for some BT's to me from all the
postings I've read. Some people just have lighter shedders. I think
many web and print articles are misleading that they are non-shedding
dogs which we fell into believing as well. We have now learned that
they are really classified as "shedding" dogs. To some, a little dog
hair is nothing to them so it's all relative... Hope that helps.
