Default Anti-inflammatory severe reaction??

On Saturday morning I brought my 9-month-old lab to the vet for a
check up, his ears had been itching him. The vet cleaned his ears and
because his ears were raw from the itching the vet technician gave him
an anti-inflammatory injection. We went home and our dog was fine all
day Saturday and Sunday. About 1 am Monday my wife and I woke to him
throwing up aggressively. We monitored him as he continued getting
sick through out the night. Towards the morning his throw up was
nothing but mucus and white foam. At about 8am he had a bowel
movement that was nothing but water and blood, which prompted us to
immediately bring him back to the vet. Our dog spent all day and
night at the vet getting x-rays, barium x-ray and blood work done.
After all the testing was done the vet attributed the vomiting and
bloody diarrhea to severe gas!!! I'm not a vet but this sounds like a
pretty whacky diagnosis. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I was reading online that there have been cases of dogs having severe
gastro intestinal reactions to anti-inflammatory drugs with symptoms
such as lethargy, vomiting, blood/water diarrhea, which my dog had.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Does anyone have any
suggestions on what I should do?
