Default dog teeth

I discovered that one of his upper premolars (see diagram on this page
http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/ClientED/a...dog_digest.asp) has a crack and a
part is about to fall off. When I touch it, it appears to bother him.

My vet tells me that it will have to be extracted. Huh? I can't just
extract bad teeth. What if they all go bad? Can't he patch it up?

I am realizing that I need to pay more attention to his dental health. Need
to brush his teeth more. Is there a good web site about good dental /
health care?

...........Google veterinary dentist. There's a few professional websites on
the subject. Well, maybe it can be fixed, depends on how far down it's
cracked, but doggy dentistry of that caliber is at least as expensive as
human work. And you'll most likely have to travel.

........brushing won't cause a cracked tooth. Your pup probably got it from
chewing on something hard.
