Excerpts fom the Seattle PI. The list of banned breeds includes a lot
more than the obvious suspects (Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman) - also includes Staffordshire Terrier, Husky, Alaskan Malamute, etc. ===================================== Some insurance companies have developed lists of dog breeds they restrict from coverage based on their potential for danger. A little more than half of the member companies of the Washington Insurance Council have breed bans. In a non-renewal letter, the insurance agent said it was "a very angry German shepherd dog," apparently because the animal barked at an appraiser. Allstate doesn't provide insurance for a household that has more than three dogs, only one of which can be a German shepherd or Doberman pinscher. The company keeps a list of restricted breeds and will not write or renew policies of homeowners who keep those breeds. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/...surance15.html |
