Default Difference between a Labrador and a Golden

Hi Folks,

Looking for a good house dog. I have 4 kids and I want to be sure I make the
right choice. What would be the best dog between the Labrador and the Golden
and what would be the downside of these dogs ?

Thx for your help

Fred

That depends a lot upon what you like and dislike in dogs. What qualities
made you focus on those two breeds? The very same qualities that one
person finds to be a "downside" in a breed is often what makes them
attractive to another person.

What kind of activities do you plan on doing with the dog? The puppies of
both these breeds can be very challenging if you have children under the
age of five or six. Adults are stongly preferable if children in the
house are under that age. Knocking down the kids in play or being mouthy
are pretty high on the list of reasons people dump both these breeds. It
isn't that hard to have kids and dogs, but lots of people just aren't
prepared to make the effort. Are you planning on a rescue/shelter dog, or
do you plan on taking the time to find a knowledgeable and caring breeder?
