This evening we were watching TV, fireplace lit, very cozy environment
and our 6 lb. chi mix was sound asleep on his favorite blanket on the sofa. From time to time I'd hear him stretch, roll over, sigh, all very normal for him. When he woke up, however, he seemed very startled and disoriented. His pupils were dilated and it was as if he was blinded. He made no noises, but wouldn't walk or respond, just kind of recoiled as if he was very frightened. After a few minutes, he "came to" and we took him for a walk to try to snap him out of it. He was fine and completely bac to normal, and I have no idea what could have caused this. Anyone ever experience anything like this? Thanks for your input. |

It sounds like a seizure of some sort. Poke around this site, starting with the top link: http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/Resources.html Anyone ever experience anything like this?
