No foster Golden for me. Happily, she'll be growing up a

The pictures don't really show how tall he is. I couldn't get
him to stand still next to 21" Friday or 24" Rocky.

Eating stations. LOL! Seriously, Melinda - just kidding!

Heh. When you have as many dogs (working dogs at that) as
Melinda, you'll realise that "eating station" means just that:
an assigned area where the dog has been trained to eat. She
wasn't being PC or using jargon.

It really doesn't matter
whether or not you were spanked as a child. Unless, that
is, you have 4 legs, bark, and eat dog food.

Brings to mind that episode of CSI.

How sad

Yep. We were at PetSmart getting some cat food for our mean old tabby
and there was a family there from the local adoption society for the
county - they were 'foster parents' for found dogs, since the county
has no animal shelter, per se. They were adopting them out. They had
six, we took two. We hope they found good homes for the rest. The
gentleman who was adopting them out said that he had refused to let
them go to a couple of folks whom he just got bad vibes from.

We are giving them their shots, getting them fixed, and giving them a
home with lots of love. Hope it makes up for the other mistakes I'm
sure we're making.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

heck - with just 2, it's assigned! In this house, when at my sides,
boys eat on my left, girls on my right - dogs and cats. And sleep on
those sides of the bed too (humans, viewed from the foot of the bed).
That's just the way things are, and any variation would be wrong! ;-D

Well, you've got a really good point there about the water bowl! We
pick up the bowls every night before we go to bed - but sometimes we
forget and I've planted a half-awake bare foot in the water dish
before. Icky!

OK, my vast apologies!

What's large for a Golden? He's certainly much taller than
those I see in agility, at least 2 or 3 inches taller than 24"
Rocky. And you're right: his coat *is* lovely and he's a *very*
nice dog.

He does look hunormous! And so extremely handsome! I have never seen a
Golden who was so red, most of the ones around here are quite golden.

I'm on the prairies of the other snowy north (Minnesota)
where it's actually not snowy at all and not even cold
(right around freezing). In the meantime, back home it's
12F and snowing. I'm looking forward to at least one more
week of sledding once I get home. Winter is for fun, summer
is for chores.
