and as this IS a dog group kids come in here all it would take is ABUSE
to get a few E-mails and some chatters or the group would be shut down.

You are a little confused. WebTV provides access to Usenet (which is
where you are) but it can't shut anything on it down. They can stop
carrying Usenet, or one particular group in Usenet. That will prevent you
from accessing it using webtv. SO from your perspective it will be
"shutdown" because you will no longer be able to use it. The postings will
remain the same you just won't see them.

Unlike WebTV I believe that if I don't wish to read/see something I don't
look, filter it out or take other steps to meet my needs without deciding
for others. If you would like some help in learning to use filters to
make this a more pleasant place to read, I will be happy to make some
suggestions. The first would be to use a newsreader (you are reading a
"newsgroup" not a board) instead of WebTV. That will give you more contol.

Another thing you need to know is that even if you are receiving postings
via email that is entirely by your choice. Newsgroups are usually more
functional using a newsreader instead of an email progam.

People often choose this kind of forum exactly because it involves no
outside nanny. Your posting behavior is your responsibility. If you
don't like the way people post (and I certainly understand that point)
then post in a different manner. And if you want to see contributions to
benefit people, then contribute. It is, afterall, an unmoderated forum.

If you want advice, rather than discussion, then this place isn't what you
are looking for. It was never intended as an advice forum, just one for
discussion. People are often happy to help out, but mostly they come for
the interaction.
