I have two five-year old female miniature schnauzers. When I first got them
I lived in a house with a very large, fenced yard they could play in. Unfortunately, I had to move and now live in a relatively small apartment with no yard at all. They have adapted well but they bark at every single sound they hear--and in an apartment, there are a lot of sounds to hear! This goes on a.m. and p.m, particularly since some of my neighbors work nights. I have tried fussing at them, spraying them with water, rewarding with biscuits when they stop--virtually everything I could think of to get them to stop the incessant barking, with no success. Any advice would be appreciated. Beth |

I hate to say this and I'll probably get flamed for it but the only thing
that would work with Lady was for me to go and buy a remote bark collar that I control. We had for a week incessant crazy barking fits every time she went out side to the point that it was fix the problem or send her back to the farm. Nothing I did was phasing her she would just keep barking like an idiot. I bought the collar and I have only had to really zap her 3 times with it in a low setting to get the point across that when I say Quiet it means to stop barking. Now if she gets carried away I will tone her and it's enough to let her know that she is to stop. Just this week I have quit even toning her but just simply telling her quiet and she is listening. The best moment was this morning at 6 am we went out side and she spotted a rabbit between the houses and all she did was let out one quick bark and when I told her quiet and she was. There was some low whining and growling at the rabbit but no crazy barking fits. Celeste "F. Geddings" wrote in message . com... I have two five-year old female miniature schnauzers.
