Default best way to clean up old urine stains/smells

Now that my dog is not having accidents in the house anymore (and soon to be
neutered), I want to be sure to get the old stains/smells out of the carpet
thoroughly. What's the best way to do this? I am not opposed to paying for
a professional service as long as that will be the best way to go. The
house is completely carpeted so that's what I want cleaned. I want to do
the whole floor in several rooms too, just to be sure I got it all. So, any
ideas? Can anyone recommend specific cleaning sprays, a particular method,
a specific way to clean the floors? I have a wet/dry vac and a stream
cleaner thing. And, as I said before, I will pay for a service. Thanks for
any help.

Services can be great. I don't have carpeting, because cleaning
anything (and adult animals DO have problems due to illness) is too
difficult. For minor spots and stains, Nature's Miracle does a great
job. If you have multiple poodle-pee all over the carpet, hire
someone and make sure they specifically address pet stains and odors.

I'll check out Nature's Miracle and call around some cleaning services.
Thanks for the input!

This link was posted a few weeks ago:

Petastic is the old Nature's Miracle formulation - NM is being
made by someone else following a different "recipe".

I swear by this stuff: http://www.planeturine.net/index.cfm/ref/gaHome

Takes ALL smell out, and you don't have to wait 2 weeks like you do
with Natures Miracle, it only takes overnight
