Default switching from puppy to adult food question

Hello! Maui will turn 1 year old on Tuesday. His vet suggested starting
the switch to adult food from puppy food at 11 and a half months and
gradually adding more of the adult food to his puppy stuff. He also
recommending getting the same brand. I finally made it to a pet store that
had the right stuff after a few attempts this past Thursday. So, for his
dinner meal on Thursday, I added some dog food (triangle shaped as opposed
to the circle shaped puppy food). I noticed that while he was eating, he
picked out all the adult food and left the puppy food. He did the same
thing on Friday and so far today. Should I be worried that the switch to
adult food is happening to fast because he picks it out and leaves the puppy
stuff or is this just a good sign that he doesn't mind the switch? I will
be calling the vet on Monday (can't be reached over the weekend and at
night) if that's appropriate but in the meantime, I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks for any help!

I'd take it as a good sign that he likes his new food and
I'd keep an eyeball out for gastrointestinal issues just in
case.
