Default Two seasons in 2 months or infection?

Our 7 month Siberian Husky had her first season at 5 months. A few days ago
(she is now 7 months) she had quite a large discharge (large blob of
coalesced, watery blood and gelled like yellowy discharge, length and
widthwise about the size of your little finger). She has been spotting
blood on and off the last few days.
We have taken her to the vet and he was considering spaying her immediately
and investigating further for infection. We had intended to spay her in
September. I was concerned about having her spayed now as it seems to me
that if she is in season again, it is unwise.
We are obviously concerned about the discharge. I didn't personally see it,
but when the vet asked my mother if it was gel-like or pussy, my mother
erred towards describing it as puss and this the vet said suggested an
infection. She is now on antibiotics and we have deferred any surgery
whilst we wait and see what happens. She doesn't have a temperature, is
eating normally. She does appear to be urinating more frequently whilst
out. I gather the increased peeing can happen during season but could also
indicate urinary tract infection as well. Otherwise she seems perfectly
normal and healthy if a little lethargic at times (but its been very hot
lately).

I was wondering, is it unheard of to have seasons in such quick succession?
Given the circumstances, what are the pros and cons of spaying now? If it
is a season, then it will be bad to spay, but what if it's an infection
(urinary or otherwise?

I'd be very grateful for any opinions or comments.

Thanks.

Dean
