Hi,

After losing a 14 yr. old bassett female, I have purchased 3yr. old male
from the same kennel, very reputable, the dog is absolutely gorgeous and is
a finished champion. However, he does fit the behavior characteristics AT
ALL. He is wild and destructive. I exercise him, play with him (I work out
of my house so I am home all day) provide plenty of toys, but he would
prefer the centerpiece on the dining table. When I'm not looking, he will
pull papers and mail off the counter and shred them. He has not been
neutered yet, will this change his behavior at all? Will he mellow a little
with age? He is very loveable despite these problems and I just love him.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
