Default Catherine's tail

HELP!! My wife's magnificent Harlequin Great Dane has a date with the vet to
lose the last two inches of her tail if the raw wound that's been there for
a few weeks doesn't resolve very soon. As a last resort (she's been on three
courses of systemic antibiotics and cortisone, had topical antibiotic cream,
bandages, etc.) we're trying tea tree.
ANY suggestions welcome. We've just got to save the tail.

Those tails are so hard to heal once they start. I believe it is referred
to as Happy Tail. The end gets whacked on objects. VERY hard to clear up
due to reinjury and being so far away from the rest of the body. It's
either 2 inches now, or 4 inches later. Catherine will still be beautiful.

........I don't know about tea tree oil on an open wound. Personally I'd be
dousing it in colloidal silver 3 or 4 times a day. Even if you get it
healed up it's likely to happen again.
