Default Catherine's tail

HELP!! My wife's magnificent Harlequin Great Dane has a date with the vet to
lose the last two inches of her tail if the raw wound that's been there for
a few weeks doesn't resolve very soon. As a last resort (she's been on three
courses of systemic antibiotics and cortisone, had topical antibiotic cream,
bandages, etc.) we're trying tea tree.
ANY suggestions welcome. We've just got to save the tail.

Is she chewing on it? Is it possible that she's banging it against items
such as furniture or her kennel? Have you tried keeping it bandaged to
avoid more trauma to it? If it's not healing there has to be something
irritating it or infection going on. Since you're doing antibiotics I'd
lean more toward daily irritation that is keeping it from healing.
