DO NOT give this to the dog without a vets advice.
I highly doubt that this is a safe drug for animals it wasn't formulated for them and you could end up killing her. Use some common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Celeste wrote in message ups.com... I have an old medication that I no longer take (Ambien, 10 MG) - is it safe to give this to a dog that is horrid in the car? I assume he'd take about a half pill, given as the dog in question is 80lbs, half the weight of a human. I have an upcoming 2,000 mile trip in 2 days, so if I can give him the medication, great, if not, I have to suffer through his whining. This is a matter I'd normally take to my vet, but I'm doing a sudden cross-country relocation. Thanks for any advice, even those who reply "make sure you ask a vet for these professional drug/medication" questions. It takes all types. |

In my experience if a drug is safe to use with a dog it is very easy to find confirming information on the web. If there is controversy over the use of a medication in dogs, that too is easy to find. When one finds little to no information on benfits and concerns, dosing, etc then generally that is because no one uses it with canines. And that would be very rare if a medication was both safe and effective. My conclusion is that it is an unsafe experiment. -- Diane Blackman http://dog-play.com/ http://dogplay.com/Shop/dogplayshop.htm |
