I recently purchased a 4 month old English Bulldog, female. While she is
an awesome girl in terms of temperment, etc, she does not know when or where to go to the bathroom. I've gotten a medium sized crate for her, put the divider up so she only has room to turn around and lay down. I take her for MANY walks, but she just wont go. Then, when we're in the house, she does. Any suggestions? Also, any helpful bulldog tips are always welcome too. THANKS! |

Sorry, but my suggestion is the obvious one: Patience, stay with her until she goes, no matter how long it takes, and reward her when she does. The next time will be shorter. -- --Matt. Make sure she has enough room in her crate to lie down stretched out without being squashed. So she's not peeng in her crate but when she's loose in the house? Dogs sometimes don't feel confident enought to pee and poo outside and prefer to wait until they are "safe" at home. If you've not had her very long, she might still be feeling unsettled. Watch her like a hawk when she is not in her crate , keep her tethered to you if necessary. Don't tell her off if she has an accident inside , praise her if she goes outside. Clean up any accidents inside with an enzyme cleaner to remove any smell of urine, chekc with a black light for any accidents you might have missed. HTH Alison |
