Default Question mixed breed puppy

Hello there. I just got a puppy from my brother and I'm gradually
coming to understand what a fascinating mixture she is. I'm wondering
if anyone familiar with the following breeds to give me a clue about
what I can expect in terms of training her?

Her mother is a Bichon/Maltese. Her father is a jack russell terrier.
She is adorable, she looks like a shaggy jack russell -- but she is
nothing like my beautiful shepherd/chow mix.

Anyone with experience with Bichon, Maltese or Jack Russells to share?

Default Question mixed breed puppy

Let the flames begin -- don Nomex suit...

I have a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix.

It is clearly a mix of both appearance an personalities.

This can/will vary, depending on the particular pupl. Sort of the luck
of the draw.

Check out AKC.ORG for breed standards and descriptions of breed
personalities.

For example, my dog loves to sit in my lap while guarding my stuff.
Coat is more Shih Tzu, but appearance is a Lhasa with longer legs.
Minimal shedding. Modest exercise requirement.

I had a Collie/Springer mix years ago. Definitely would "guard the
flock," and herd the kids.

The two mixed breeds were/are the best dogs I ever had. Had 2 Goldens,
and lost both to cancer. Breeding problems and got them from a
retutable breeder into the bargain.

Your milage WILL vary. Enjoy your dog!
