I'm paying $34 for a 40lb bag. The only foods I see at my mom-n-pop
store that are more expensive are Eukanuba and Wellness. I don't
remember what Innova costs, since I tried it when I switched from BARF
and it gave Wojo the runs.

That's too bad to hear, Beth.
How long did you try the Innova?
It is really rich, so it did the same with my dogs, at first. Both my lab
gal and the lab mix are on it and the amount I feed is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY less
than other foods. I do have to travel a bit farther now, in Kansas, to get
it. (Up to Wichita to a feed outlet store, an hour dirve, but I buy in bulk,
4-5 bags at a time so not too bad a deal)
I pay about 36 for that and about 37 for Rudy's California Natural. This
wound up being the very best for him, and the Innova on the black dogs? Some
gorgeous shine to their coats, along with every vet visit remarking on their
look, and not one vet believing Rudy is actually almost 14, from his teeth
being so white. Natura has me as a regular lifetime customer!
(Actually now living back here in Kansas our vet, Kip, was Rudy's vet from 8
weeks old. G)

I had tried so many foods with Rudy, his dry skin, flea allergies,
pancreatitis, and other allergies, haven't been a problem since I switched
years ago to the Natura lines. But the Innova did give him the runs for a
longer time than the labbies, and the fact he was allergic to some of the
things in Innova....can't remember which, tho.

There's lotsa stuff in Innova, probably too much for most of us
to get a handle on.

For Rocky, I swear by their California Natural. And I don't
work for the company. Because of his issues, I like that it's a
simple and consistent food.

Chicken Soup is made by Diamond, yes, but aflatoxin comes from corn and
there is NO corn in Chicken Soup, so it is perfectly safe. We sell it where
I work (but not the regular Diamond) and have had every assurance and
evidence that this is true.

Melody - aflatoxins are by no means restricted to corn, they can ocurr
in rice, and many other grains. Vomitoxins which are a similar to
aflatoxins can ocurr in various grains as well.

Food products susceptible to aflatoxin contamination

· Cereals: maize, sorghum, pearl millet, rice, wheat
· Oilseeds: groundnut, soybean, sunflower, cotton
· Spices: chilli, black pepper, turmeric, coriander and ginger
· Nuts: almond, pistachio, walnut, coconut
· Milk and milk products

I just noticed the "of the forest" part of your name. what forest?
Unquestionably what I miss most about living in Kansas nowadays is the
loss of "my" forest in Northern Idaho where I'm from. I enjoy what I'm
doing and the people in Kansas have been wonderful people, but I miss
the forest and the mountains more than I can express.
