Default Dog Vomiting and Will not Climb Stairs or Jump

We have a mixed breed, most likely a beagle / Airedale terrier mix,
about 6 years old. He has recently started vomiting very solid vomit.
This has been on and off for about 1 week. He has within the last day
or 2 refused to climb stairs or jump on the bed. We whines at the
bottom of the stairs, but will not venture up by himself. Could this
be a potential kidney problem?

Could be foreign body obstruction, other GI abnormality, Liver or Kidney
disease, reaction to severe pain due to an orthopedic problem, etc... It's
been a week. Time to get to the vet.

We went to the Vet and it was some type of trama to his hind end. He
either fell or was hit, we are not sure. Thanks for everyone's help!
