I'm going to re-read this before I try to respond.. I'm not sure I grasp it
yet. In the meantime, in case they help, here are pics:

They didnt find anything when they ran the test. If it helps, here are

I don't know if these are relevant, but his nipples are kind of dry/crusty:

My 7 year old yellow lab used to look just like your pictures. Scaly
enlarged nipples, hot spots, crusty itchy skin, and he was plagued
with yeast infections. We were constantly at the vet for ear wash,
antibiotics, and steroids for the itch. Nothing seemed to work and the
vet couldn't give me a definitive answer as to what was causing the
problem. The first thing was to change his food - and we finally
settled on a whitefish/sweet potato blend that seemed to work. One day
I was in the holistic pet store buying the food and got talking to the
woman who owns the place. She said 'i'll be willing to bet that he has
seasonal allergies and this has nothing to do with what you're feeding
him.' At this point I was willing to try anything. She hooked me up
with some holistic allergy relief pills. I hesitate to give you the
website for fear of being labelled a troll - I assure you I'm not - i
have no vested interest in this place and I'm sure there are other
companies around who sell the same stuff that you could check out.
www.naturespetherbs.com I also put him on low-dose Benadryl once a
day (with the vet's approval.) I also don't let him swim in water I
wouldn't swim in myself. His skin and coat have never been in better
shape and he hasn't had an ear infection or skin outbreak in the 8
months I've been using this treatment.
