Default 4 Boston Terrier puppies for sale (SF Bay area)

I have 4 Boston Terrier puppies for sale ($750 or best offer per puppy)
2 males (Jack and Panda), 2 females (Missy and Blossom)
Jack is a brindle.

They were born January 2nd, 2006. They have had all their shots to
date, as
well as their first worming. If you are interested, please contact Judy
Kontos
at 510-247-9198.

They are extremely playful, and well on their way to being paper
trained and
are learning to use a doggy door as well.

Thank you,
Judy Kontos

Questions a potential buyer might want to ask a Boston Terrier breeder:
When was the sire last CERF'd?
When was the dam last CERF'd?

If you want to support breeders working to reduce the rate of blindness in
dogs then look for a breeder who at least CERF's before breeding, and
better yet a breeder whose dogs belong to lines that have been
consistently checked for eye diseases that cause blindness.

What is the rate of incidence of Juvenile cataracts in the lines bred?
How may of the dogs in the line have been checked for and certfied as
clear for Juvenile cataracts?

Do both Sire and Dam appear in the OFA data base? If so, for what
conditions have they been tested? If not, why not? What about the
grandparents and greatgrandparents of the sire and dam?

If you want to support breeders who are working to reduce the rate of
crippling problems such as Patellar Luxation then look for a breeder who
at least clear's the sire and dam for these conditions and can produce
evidence of the clearance with an indpendent certificate (i.e. not the
owner's own veterinarian) such OFA. Better yet choose a breeder whose
dogs belong to a line of similarly cleared dogs, and where there are
similar records on aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings. Keep in mind that
a perfect record is not the goal, an honest record is. Truthful and
complete records are necessary to result in healthier dogs. All breeds
have individuals with genetic health issues, the question isn't does it
happen, but how frequently, and what is done when it occcurs.

Are the parents, greatgrandparemts and great-greatgrandparents still
living? If any are not, what did they die of? If they are, what is their
current state of health? What about aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings?

Have the puppies been BAER tested? If not, why not? Have the sire and
dam been BAER tested?

This form should give you an idea of what should be expected from a
knowledgable and caring breeder"

It is tempting to take a less than carefully bred Boston because carefully
bred ones are harder to find. But do you want to encourage more health
problems to plauge the breed? If you pay a breeder who failed to use that
care, that is exactly what you are doing.

The sad truth is that they will be able to sell them because most pet
buyers don't know anymore what to look for than most pet breeders.
Because largely they are the same people. Most dogs are not produced by
puppy mills but by people who decide to breed casually. The people
breeding didn't know what to ask when they bought, and mostly didn't
learn much more before they bred. The buyers aren't educated on the
issues either, so they can't make help the breeders learn by the
questions they ask. This lack of exchange of information, lack of data,
is largely responsible for many of the very serious problems dogs face.

For example, in this breed there is a "popular sire" who had a nasty
temperament. Temperament is partly genetic. So bad temperament pops up
unexpectedly when the genetics mesh. Since most people get their dogs
from other just a pet people, or from the money grubbers, that bit of
knowledge is rearely passed on, and the effect of that popular sire
spreads.
