Default BSL in Springfield, Missouri

Our city council is moving toward a pitbull ban. While over 50 people
apparently signed up to speak at the city council meeting last night,
it appears council members are inclined to move forward.

I'm posting this because I know there are people on the group who pay
attention to these matters. I also wanted to ask if anyone has any
quantifiable information on how breed bans have worked in other
communities. Anecdotal information indicates that there is a rising
number of other "tough" breeds in Denver, for example, but I was
hoping to find more statistical data.

I'm going to write a letter to the council and mayor. While I have my
opinion, I'm hoping to back it up with a little more data.

Below is a link to the story in today's Springfield News Leader. It
should not require registration.
