Default separation anxiety in chocolate lab mix

I have an 8 year old, rescued, "mostly" chocolate lab with severe
separation anxiety. We have been told by numerous kennels that she is
not a good candidate for boarding and not to bring her back-including
her own vet. She has eaten holes in drywall, clawed and chewed the trim
boards at our house and made a "doggie door" through the laundry room
door. We have taken her to training, brought a trainer in and put her
on valium. At my wit's end, I found Jerry Howe's information on the
Internet, contacted him and read his manual. At this point she is not
cured, but by making a fuss over an inanimate object when I leave, I
can see progress in the area of separation anxiety. I am using his
manual to work on other aspects of her behavior. I just want to say
thanks so much to Jerry for his manual, his advice and knowledge about
animal behavior. I can honestly say that there is finally hope for
Amelia. Anyone "At My Wit's End" should at least try his methods.
