I have a very tiny pup, "3 lbs" at , 8 month old papillon who pottied when
the owner let her out in the morning before work and after she came home.(
about 6 hours ) Each dog had their own large kennel apartment with blanket
and chew toys, I was told the dog kept her kennel clean and peed/poo when
let outside.

Okay, Now I took 2 weeks off from work and have the pup on a leash next to
me all times and regularly take her out to pee/poo every 2 hours. I only
have had her a week. She knows to go outside for sure when outside .If I
have to crate her I do and she keeps it clean and then I immediately take
her outside.

However when will a dog show signs of wanting to go out?

I also am teaching her name when called and other basic obedience ( I
enrolled her in puppy classes once a week ) she never learned when living in
a kennel.
She seems very smart and seems to feel quite at home here too.

While you are teaching her things, teach her to ring a bell. Thank you
for saving this poor deprived creature and giving her a real life. She
sounds like a sweetie
